Our History

 

From the earliest days, starting with our founding in 2014, Rupaya has been focused on one thing, developing the best possible digital remittence and transaction solutions for everyone in South Asia.

Rupaya 1 – The Origins

Rupaya was created by Assim on 1st April, 2004 after he saw projects like Aurora Coin which targeted Iceland specifically. Realizing the potential, he decided to bring this modern tech to South Asia.

  • Rupaya started as a Litecoin Fork, then progressed to POS when ASIC’s hit the market and eventually became a POS coin with masternodes.
  • Rupaya’s original ticker symbol was RUP
  • Rupaya got listed on Coinano website on 3rd April 2014
  • Rupaya got listed on Allcrypt on 4th April 2014
  • Rupaya got listed on Bittrex on 12th April 2014
  • Rupaya relaunch announced 8 March 2017
  • Rupaya adds a website button on official Facebook page on 17 May 2017
  • RUP made mineable on coinminers.
  • Rupaya listed on Tradesatoshi 13 July 2017

  • Forked to new chain with ticker RUPX
  • RUPX tradeable on Nova Exchange 7 aug 2017
  • Listed on Coinsmarket 30 July 2017
  • Added web wallet 2 August 2017
  • Listed on cmc 11 August 2017
  • RUPX tradeable on coingather 20 August 2017
  • Rupx listed on Yobit 24 August 2017
  • Rupx hardfork announced on 28 September 2017

Rupaya 3

  • Hardfork happened though Nova Exchange on 02 October 2017
  • Hard fork lasted one month. The new chain temporarily had the ticker Rupay only on Nova Exchange
  • New logo [blue box]
  • Original website created on 20 oct 2017 (announced on bitcointalk)
  • First Whitepaper released 23 Oct 2017
  • Listed on stocks.exchange 1st Nov 2017
  • Rupaya hard fork to RUPX 3.0 announced on December 28 2017

Rupaya 4

  • New logo (The Wheel)
  • Discord created/revealed 9 Feb 2018
  • Listed on Masternodes.online 10 Feb 2018
  • Crypto bridge first trade on 09th march 2018 (listing date probably)
  • Updated white paper released
  • New marketing initiatives started

Rupaya 5

  • New branding and identity system
  • Hardfork to more secure codebase
  • First known successful fork of PIVX 3.1
  • Month-long coin swap event achieves 92% satisfaction rating using custom built Rupaya Swapbot through Discord
